Vitamin Therapy for Heart Attack

This may seem too good to be true. Vitamin tablets are perhaps the most used medication these days. It has so many benefits, but one of the most interesting but less heard of benefit is its beneficial role in myocardial infarction. Studies show vitamin therapy significantly decreases a second heart attack (in medical term, a reinfarction).

Vitamins do this by their homocysteine-lowering effect.Homocysteine has atherogenic effect. Vitamins that play this role are folate, vitamin B-12, and vitamin B6.

So, it helps in patients but will it also be helpful in lowering heart disease in the general population? This is currently unknown.

Good article and very true. They will have a positive effect as the niacin, dilates blood vessels and so makes blod flow easier. This results in more cells being able to do their job and hence heal body. (That is just my simple explanation)

Niacin also helps with reduction of bad cholesterol.
