$1000 Health Articles Contest

Prize money: Single $1000 prize for the best article.

Topic: Any topic falling in the broad category of "interesting health articles or facts,” appealing to the laymen or general population.

Participation Criteria: Anyone who is willing to work hard, research ideas, and present entertaining healthcare articles of scholarly merit.

Length and format: 250 words and greater

Submission Mode: Through e-mail submissions only at khushnoodul@yahoo.com; additional required details include email, name, age, and education. Article submission will be confirmed with a response e-mail to the sender.

Rules:
· Submission will be accepted October 15th, 2009 through March 1st, 2010.
· Any number of submissions per contestant will be accepted.
· Participants must be above 18 years of age.
· Language for articles is limited to only English.
· All submissions must be original.
· Quotes and references must be marked and properly cited to avoid plagiarism.
· Articles must be factual but can vary in style including being scholarly to being candid or even satirical in composition.
· If an article is felt as subpar of healthcare scholarly standards, we reserve the right to reject the article and our decision will be non-negotiable. Still lenience will be shown and if we feel that only slight changes need to be made for the article to pass our standards, we might contact the sender to edit their piece.
· Articles will be published online on interesting-health-facts.com as they are received throughout the contest duration.
· All articles will be reviewed and shortlisted by our selection panel of jury consisting of doctors and medical researchers.
· The jury will award points based both on their review of individual articles and on the responses of the visitors to the article such as with comments, etc.
· The decision of the Jury will be final and will not be subject to an appeal.
· Staff or Jury members of interesting-health-facts.com are not eligible to submit articles in the contest.
· Failure to meet any of the above rules, will nullify a submission.
